Caroline Kennedy accepts a gift of a painting of ‘President Kennedy in New Ross 1963’ by Irish artist Michael Hanrahan on Saturday 22 June 2013 at New Ross. A second painting – ‘President Kennedy in Cork 1963’ will go on display at The Kennedy Foundation in Boston soon. Aer Lingus have kindly agreed to fly Michael and the painting to Boston so that Michael can deliver it personally. Another painting ‘President Kennedy in Leinster House 1963’ goes ‘under the hammer’ at Whytes Art auction in Dublin on 30th sept 2013 (www.whytes.ie)
Gardaí are investigating the theft of six Evie Hone paintings from Kiltullagh Church in County Galway. Studies for these works were sold in Whyte’s in April 2005 for €42,000. Please contact Gardaí if you have any information regarding this crime.
